I began travelling around Europe & Asia when I was fourteen. Then in my twenties lived for a while in the States and then on to Brazil. I learnt that every culture has something to teach the others.
In 1999 I helped found the Anglican Urban Network to alert churches across the world to the poverty engendered by globalisation. This took us to India and to New York to discuss personally with Dr Nitin Desai, Under Secretary General of the United Nations. Lecturing in Texas, Sweden and India led to the publication of my small book 'The Impact of Globalisation' which introduced the subject to many at that time.
WORKING IN INDIA
I love India, its people & its many cultures. Music, Colour, Foods, Smiles amidst the poverty.
With friends, Chris and Phil Brown, who also knew India well, we founded BUILDING BETTER FUTURES INTERNATIONAL, to raise funds to transform lives of extremely poor women and children in the south. Over many years we've built a superb training centre for the many projects. Click here to help.
I've lectured at Tamil Nadu Theological Seminary, at the American College in Madurai and at Bangalore with my good friend David Joy , Principal of the United Theological College. It was there that I proudly announced the publication of his new book on New Testament hermeneutics
